Counseling for Teens & Adults
I currently work with individuals ages 13 and up. Therapy may include art-making, but at times may be focused more on verbal inquiry, problem-solving, or mindfulness. Each session will be guided by present needs and based not only on what feels comfortable, but what works. Talking, humor and even movement can all support the therapeutic relationship and shed light on inner struggles. Issues that I can help with may include anxiety, depression, life transitions, self-esteem, grief, loss, relationship struggles, divorce, infidelity, trauma, health issues, women's issues, and general coping skills.
Art Therapy
Art therapy may involve collage, painting, drawing, journaling, sculpting or other visual mediums with the goal of therapeutic exploration. No art experience is required... just a willingness to play and be curious. We may explore what comes up during the process or explore symbolism that presents itself in the final product. Examining the inner critic can be an important part of the process. Some clients choose to make art at home and bring it into sessions. There are many ways to approach art therapy, and all are guided by client comfort and personal goals.
Women's Groups
Small, supportive women's groups utilizing creativity and mindfulness will be forming in early 2025. The groups will have between 5-8 members and will run for 10-12 weeks. The benefits of Group work are numerous. The peer to peer support and engagement greatly highlight relationship patterns and help integrate new ways of being and responding. In groups, you not only learn ways to support yourself through mindfulness and creative work, but you learn boundary setting, improve listening and attunement skills, and see improved emotional integration.
